Cycle 2024, No. 11: Cardboard Relief/The Disasters of War, 2024

Description: The board is almost completely covered in several cardboard inserts taken from packages received over the years. Several parts of the cardboard is damaged or dented with several pieces cracked or caved in completely. The board as a mixture of black acrylic and dish soap pouring down its surface from its top edge
Meaning: This piece is the eleventh in my 2024 cycle of works based on the two artists I consider to be my greatest inspirations: Robert Rauschenberg and Emilio Vedova. The title of the piece is an homage to Francisco de Goya's series The Disasters of War. The piece's direct interpretation is up to the viewer.
