Description: This piece was made out of a broken canvas I bought at Michaels. I tore the broken stretchers out and placed them along the bottom edge of the canvas with two support pieces along the bottom and the broken stretcher itself positioned diagonally off the canvas. At the end of the broken stretcher is a white arrow attached to it using nails. Placed on the left side of the canvas is a wood letter "S" and between a support piece and the broken stretcher is a wood letter "I". The piece is covered in a mix of black and white acrylic.

Meaning: This piece is the first of a series of works based on the two artists I consider to be my greatest inspirations: Robert Rauschenberg and Emilio Vedova. The piece's direct interpretation is up to the viewer.
