Cycle 2024, No. 26: The Deluge, 2024

Description: The board is painted black and white, with white at the top and black at the bottom. At the left edge is a piece of burlap. Two pieces of wood, one is a fragment from an unsucessful work and the second is an arrow, is placed on its top. Placed at the bottom center of the piece is a cardboard insert from a box. At the bottom right are two cardboard inserts from a pair of shoes. Above the two inserts is a gold piece of vinyl that's completely painted black, on top of this is a second wooden arrow. At the top right corner is a large stencil resembling the rose window of a cathedral. Placed along the left half of the piece is a series of silver ribbons that cover the objects on the left side of the board.
Meaning: This piece is the twenty sixth in my 2024 cycle of works based on the two artists I consider to be my greatest inspirations: Robert Rauschenberg and Emilio Vedova. The piece represents the Deluge that led to Noah's Ark.
